HOPE
Holding Onto Positive Energy
Hope is the belief in something not yet realized, but nonetheless stimulates our consciousness. Hope, you see, is associated with action.
On the other hand, there are those who are sick but have hope in living and many times get better simply due to that hope alone! This hope that we have the, is rooted in the action (energy) of some unseen force. For many it is a belief in a Creator or other benevolent Higher Power. Alcoholics Anonymous, and all other 12-step groups, dictate that we look to a Higher Power for hope in being sober of free from whatever addiction or habit that particular group addresses.
In a large number of seemingly hopeless cases, it works.
How many of us have heard people say that they hope to be happy in life, and they believe that money will bring them happiness? There are many rich people who are unhappy, it is a known fact. It is not that happy people live life differently than unhappy people, but the fact is that happy people view life differently. They have a conscious hope that life will be happy in some way for them. It frequently is, much more so than for those that do not believe in hope.
When I say that I hope to live to be a hundred, and then don't do anything to help make that hope a reality, then I probably will have a lot less of a chance to live to that ripe old age. If a person is fooling themselves lie this, they cannot really believe in the hope that they have unless they are just mouthing the words.
As the above acronym states, Holding Onto Positive Energy, is synonymous with hope and we see the basic foundation of hope as not only something unseen, but something you can help bring to life through positive action.
HOPE
John Mandala
Hope, like energy, is dynamic. The will to live is rooted in a action. If we hope that tomorrow we will be alive to accomplish something or anything, it begins with our thoughts. How many times have we heard of people who have lost their hope to live when they were sick and, not surprisingly, they die rather quickly.
